2006 November Elections
26Oct06
This is how I plan to vote.
How do the GOP, moral majority (yeah, right), Christian right, and religious groups want me to cast my ballot? I’m voting the exact opposite. I figure that is far more likely to be in touch with reality.
And Dubya? He’s probably caused more damage to this country than all previous presidents combined. He needs to become a lame duck at all costs, and before he pisses off what little remains of this earth that isn’t already really pissed off (or is it too late?).
Hmmm…I wonder if he’ll read this when he uses The Google on the Internets…

That sounded very therapeutic! I won’t even try to change your mind, but I will make one small appeal that I think you will be willing to consider.
Go to Project Vote Smart (http://www.vote-smart.org/index.htm), Fact Check (factcheck.org), or whatever you usually use and research some of the candidates that you haven’t made up your mind on yet.
I’d be willing to bet that you will find at least one from the “other side” that you like. Maybe not the most important position. Give him or her a chance. You might be pleasantly surprised! One party seldom has all of the answers.
When I have done this I have come away thinking that I am open-minded and helping our democracy by getting a little more informed.
Dan…normally I would agree with you completely, and it’s what I usually do. I am not one to draw my support along party lines, but look at each candidate on his/her own merits. However, I think this is a special case. I think Dubya (I can’t even bring myself to show him any respect or deference) needs to become a lame duck at all costs, even if it means preferring a Dem running against a GOP candidate who is more qualified. It’s that bad.
