We returned from Sebring earlier this week, where we attended the previous week’s 55th running of the 12 Hours of Sebring, one of the great sports car races anywhere. We had a blast and there are stories to tell, but that will have to wait. I have nearly 5000 photos from the trip, so I have lots of culling to do before I can create a photo journal of the trip. In the meantime, here’s a photo I shot at the Wednesday afternoon ALMS practice. It’s the Penske Porsche RS Spyder exiting Turn 17. The building in the background is the Four Points Sheraton hotel that sits on the track near the Turn 7 hairpin.

I’ll have lots more later…

Spyker brought one of their Audi-powered C8 GTs to compete in the GT2 class. I think the cars are pretty cool. I wish they would contest the whole season.

Team Modena is a privateer running the Aston Martin DB9R. It’s unfortunate the factory team was missing.

The Audio R10 TDI turbo diesel. Still waiting to see if these can be stopped. Can’t wait to see Peugeot’s new diesel give them a run at the 24 Hours Le Mans.

Tom Kristensen in the paddock. He’s won the 24 Hours Le Mans more than anyone (7 times). This will likely be the only ALMS race he’s in this season since he’s racing for Audi in DTM.

And in the “run whatcha brung” category…

Let’s not forget the Kumho Girls

Great photos from Sebring! Hopefully me and Steve (the other nascrap.net guy) will be able to make it to some of the ALMS stuff in our area, seing how we only live an hour from Mid-Ohio. I look forward to seeing more of the photos, again, those are great!

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed them. I’m still going through pictures, and hope to have at least some of the good ones posted this weekend. We’ll be at the USGP in June and Petit Le Mans in October.

You should definitely go to Mid Ohio for ALMS. It’s a great series and very fan friendly.
