		<description>I don't understand why Apple can't do a 32 bit version, at least for Intel. Apple doesn't seem to want to say anything about what they intend for Java on the Mac platform. 

In any case, I believe all the major JDK releases from Apple have been tied to an OS release. Java 5 doesn't run on anything earlier than Tiger, AFAIK. Apple doesn't seem to show a whole lot of interest in making Mac OS X a Java development platform.</description>
